sidewaysNot my most productive ficathon, but I did manage two fills for some very beloved fandoms so that was nice c:
Title: A Planet, Overflowing
Fandom: Finisterre/Star Wars
Prompt: Nighthorses and Jedi
The fragmented comlink at his feet is a problem; the angry woman racking another bolt back in her crude kinetic rifle is another, her fear and fury so present in the Force he can feel the very shape of it: [radio] and [careless] and [dark stranger].
The beast is something else: the hint of fangs under lips do not hold Luke's attention as much as the overwhelming Force-pressure pushing onto him, into him, pricked ears and [curious, wary wanting] threatening to drown senses already battling for space on this strange, shouting planet.
Without thinking he pushes back, tries to gentle the creature's reaching like he might an overeager youngling with no grasp of their own strength; the beast snorts and throws its head up, [offended], and the woman jerks more alarmingly still, a note strung in unintentional harmony, barks ["Flicker!"]; and in that moment Luke, fledgling Jedi Master, grasps just what has grown here on this stranded colony, forgotten by the agendas of Republic and Empire alike; and can only say, faintly, "Ah."

Fandom: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (2003)
Prompt: Splinter getting to socialise with fellow grown-ups
It is the machine that does not interest Donatello, the enemy Raphael does not wish to fight, the accomplishment Michelangelo sees no boast in, and the challenge even Leonardo strives towards only through passionless duty.
It is one of many small distances in Splinter's life (necessary, if at times... wearying, to hold these fears and desires alone, to have sons but no siblings or peers) - until a flight through a sewer, a reckless rescue, and the introduction of April O'Neil.
"It literally halved the time it takes to get around the whole apartment," she enthuses as he draws the purring machine across the rug, kneels to reverently run a paw across the bright, clean fibres left in its wake, "and the triangular head is great for getting in corners; my mom thinks the pet hair attachment is overkill, but hey, I shed too, and not having to unclog the filter every fifteen minutes was worth a few extra bucks - Master Splinter? Are you okay?"
