I do sometimes wonder whether this particular subset of online creators sees any discrepancy at all between frequently complaining that they don't get enough feedback and frequently complaining that the feedback they get is wrong. 'They mean nothing'. Spare me.

Ugh, though, one of the best things about Dreamwidth is no likes OR reblogs. You can't help me build a brand. All you can do is engage with me as a person. It's so good.

Yyyyop. I can sympathise with wanting exposure, but you hit the nail on the head with the brand thing - it shifts the whole relationship to creator vs consumer and completely dumps the community aspect in the process.

Like, I feel like I'm building a community here - but not a brand. And I LOVE IT

But I understand that creators want money in exchange for time, which means expsure. It just sucks in how it distorts the process.
