I am wilded by the professional composition of this poem from the get-go! I am not familiar with the original, so it has taken me a little study to wrap my head around the exact conversation going on between the two pieces, but now that I have - I like how this reflects all the more upon the perspective that age brings, the placing of one's own woes and dramas in a greater, less self-absorbed tapestry. "But I am not so old as I once believed, nor so terrible / And the Universe ticks onward despite my scratching at its door."

I'm so glad you liked it! The original T. S. Eliot poem is one of my favorites, and I really wanted to do it justice--as well as the idea behind it, and the thought that it is possible to move forward even from such awkwardness as Proofrock suffers.
