Summary: The first time Dredgen Yor killed Jaren Ward, it was honestly just a misunderstanding.

Remarks: This fic is a triumph in terms of finishing old drafts (I think it's been sitting around since 2015) and choosing completion over perfection. It's otherwise a bit of a messy fic - the ending is much too abrupt, but I had to admit I'd lost interest in delving into the conversation it needed to close it out properly, and was not likely to become interested again. Some fun turns of phrase, though, and worth writing the part I still wanted to capture.

She asked it to stick out its tongue, and Hazel rocked back on the tree stump, poked a fat pink tongue out at her, and blew a messy raspberry.
