Feb. 15th, 2020 05:52 pmI don't often buy hardcopy books these days, mostly because my shelves are close to full and I don't want yet another entire bookshelf to haul around with me every time I move. Still, as convenient as ebooks are, I do miss having hardcopies of everything, especially series where I might want to page through to find specific sections or details. You can't skim with a Kindle as easily, nor remember a moment's physical place when it doesn't have one.
This is a reflection inspired by the fact I went to look up details and tripped into rereading the whole Books of the Raksura series. Not a great hardship and a reread was due anyway, but it's definitely the kind of series where the novels are both stories and reference texts. I may have to crack and look into getting them in paper form someday, space issues be damned.
