I should admit I am one of Those People who loves New Vegas above all and hasn't managed to click the same way with any other offering from the franchise. Pretty much the moment I realised FO4 had no intention of using skill checks I knew this wasn't going to be a game that worked well for me. It honestly weirds me out a bit that my supposed old world civilian Sole Survivor racks up a higher kill count in a handful of weeks than my Courier 6 does across the course of an entire game that literally includes a pitched battle, ahah. The Silver Shroud quest should have been a fun noir pastiche. Instead they just asked me to be an assassin 8(
The environments are great though. Really love the variety in how wildlife and non-humans move and interact, and having weather brings a HUGELY immersive element to the setting. Some of the most fun I've had is in just wandering around overland, admiring the scenery, until something inevitably tries to rip my head off.
